Recipes from a sister climate (for tomatoes and eggplant)

In December 2013, my mother and I had the opportunity to travel to tour archeological sites in Israel and Palestine. Besides the wonder of visiting landscapes, lakes, and notable towns and cities I had read about from a young age, I enjoyed seeing how people farm in the desert and tasting the delicious harvests that came from carefully tended fields, orchards and vineyards. California has a Mediterranean climate as well, so Beto and I often take notes from farmers in this region

My mom bought a cook book for me on this trip, and I'd like to share some of the recipes that call for the veggies we've been growing and harvesting. Hope you enjoy!
